What Does Your Logo Mean?

It’s a well known fact that logos are a very important aspect of any business - online or bricks-and-mortar. It’s the very first thing your customers see. It can many times attract them or send them away. I have, on many occasions, found myself to spend time on a web site simply because it had an attractive logo. It simply induced in me a state of mind that drove me to check it out.

Some businesses take the designing of their logos to a whole new dimesions giving them (hidden) meanings. It’s quite fun to try and figure them out.

I can’t help it but ask myself what should a new business do? How much of a hidden message should you convey into your logo? Should you stick to a nicely designed logo that represents your business or should you really try and play some mind games with your customers?

It’s kind of hard for me to believe that most customers would ever catch onto any hidden messages within your logo. I mean how many of you ever realized that Amazon’s logo tells that they have everything (from a to z) and that they bring smiles to people’s faces? I certainly haven’t. Untill recently. From now on I’ll definitely look at each and every logo with a different attitude trying to figure out whether it’s trying to tell me something or it’s there just because it has to be.

Going back to my questions though, I came to the conclusion that it would be a nice thing to play a little game. Even if just for providing a bit of fun for your customers.

Funny, I never noticed Amazon’s logo before either. But now that you mention it, you can see it’s meaning.
